Re: User Profiles

Mark, I have been doing this stuff a few years. I am originally from South Ozone Park, Queens. I found that their were a number of Kerrigan's that were related. I spoke with a second cousin a few years ago and she got me hooked. She also identified her birth mother who I knew as an aunt was actually...

Re: Kerrigan in Phila. PA

Susan, a few more things I stumbled up. I checked the web and found a website for Carr's. They appear to have come from County Cork. I have a couple of websites of possible interest for Ireland, Mallow Heritage Center (http://www.irish-roots.net/mallow.asp), also Cork (http://www.irishroots.net/Cork...

Re: Kerrigan in Phila. PA

Susan, I came across the James Carr in Palo Alto. I assume the one that was married to Margaret. Francis was about 19 in 1900. I also checked John A. Young and found one in Philly that was married to a Ellen A. Young. I assume this is the one you mentioned. Ellen A Young matches the month and year o...

Re: Kerrigan in Phila. PA

They were close to New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland from Philly. In regards to cemetery's it could be easy or they might want to charge from some information. A...

Re: Kerrigan in Phila. PA

Susan, I was wondering if you found anything checking the census records. I would assume that they should show up there. I have saved this whole string and will try and check things at my local library. I don't know where you live. However, I would also suggest tracking down your closest office of t...

Re: Kerrigan Family from Statn Island NY

My half sister Shirley Kerrigan lived on Staten Island for a number of years. She raised four kids. Also when she moved there with her husband she ran into my fathers aunt who was able to tell her why she was named Shirley, a Jewish name. Her mother never fully explained the reasons or who. I met my...

That's sometime the problem is trying to figure out how they got here. Some of the imigrants arrived in Canada and then crossed th...
